Shabbat Experience Tour

Jerusalem Night

According to the Jewish Sages, the Sabbath or Shabbat is ‘the source of blessing’ and the keystone of creation.

Shabbat in Jerusalem should be at the top of the ‘to see list’ for any traveler in Israel. You can really delve into the soul of Judaism by experiencing the Sabbath in Jerusalem.
We will see how Jerusalem prepares for the Sabbath, how different Jews experience  the day and discover rituals that are over 2000 years old still practiced today.
Nowhere in the world is there a Saturday like this one.

What Does the Tour Include?

– Seeing how some of Jerusalem’s earliest neighbourhoods prepare for Shabbat (includes a walking tour of Nachalaot).

Buying Food for Shabbat: Visit Machaneh Yehudah Market on the busiest Day of the week.

Friday Night ‘Oneg Shabbat’: On Friday Night there are a list of complimentary optional activities; visiting a synagogue / the Western Wall, home hospitality and maybe even visiting a Hassidic Tisch.

Havdalah, Welcoming the Week: After watching the sun set over the old city, time permitting there will be an activity welcoming the new week.

On Saturday there is also the option of home hospitality and a complimentary walking tour of the Jewish Quarter.

Disclaimer: As a free complementary part of this package (as I am not permitted to work for money on the Sabbath) I also will take you on a guided tour of the Jewish Quarter on Saturday and can include Sabbath hospitality and an optional visit to a Hassidic ‘Tisch’ on Friday Night.
